THE GHOST IS THE MACHINE is in my hot little hands
When I brought the kids home from summer camp this afternoon, I asked my 8-year-old to check the mail. He’s under the impression that at any time, a video game might just show up like manna from heaven.
So while he’s doing that, my 6-year-old finds a box on the stoop. We bring it inside and open it, and lo and behold, it’s a package of mommy’s special soap, a copy of Thomas Steinbeck’s IN THE SHADOW OF THE CYPRESS, and a copy of THE LORD OF THE RINGS: WAR IN THE NORTH for the Xbox 360 that we had ordered a while ago and almost forgotten about.
So manna does fall.
My 8-year-old comes in from the mailbox with a few bills and other detritus, and a manila envelope about the size of a trade paperback sent from Post Mortem Press. Yes, folks, I finally have my copy of THE GHOST IS THE MACHINE, and there I am, right after Joe Hill’s “Scheherazade’s Typewriter”.
It officially drops on August 14th at Amazon and Barnes & Noble, but you can preorder it now direct from the publisher and save two bucks off the $16 cover price by using discount code AAB8GJJY, plus it ships immediately, so why wait? Pick up your copy now.
And in a matter of days, you could enjoy what I did today, but you’ll have to order some special soap, Thomas Steinbeck’s IN THE SHADOW OF THE CYPRESS, and THE LORDS OF THE RINGS: WAR IN THE NORTH for Xbox 360 to complete the experience.
Yeah, it was a good day.
