A FEAST OF FRIGHTS tops Snakebite Horror’s Halloween reading list
Nathan Robinson has posted his top picks for Halloween reading at Snakebite Horror, and coming in at number one is A FEAST OF FRIGHTS, which features my short story, “Clawed Sod”:
Jeani Rector presents us with A FEAST OF FRIGHTS FROM THE HORROR ZINE, which nearly clocking in at 500 pages and bringing you terrific shorts from Jeff Strand, Joe R. Lansdale, Simon Clark and Graham Masterton, amongst others.
However, it was “The Soldier” by Shaun Meeks that grabbed me. Conjuring up an Ambrose Bierce twist-a-thon about a defeated soldier on his way after suffering a brilliantly described wound; Meeks is visceral, unforgiving and takes no prisoners. This is one of the goriest tales by far and really stood out for me as one of the better told tales.
