LOSING TOUCH & spec fic presentation at GNHS

Grayslake North has invited me to present a workshop called “Writing Speculative Fiction” on April 1 as part of SPARK! Your Imagination Week at the north suburban high school. If you watch closely, I’m mentioned at the 3:20 mark of this very nostalgic promo:

Alright, kids. Put your speculative fiction hats on.

Alright, kids. Put your speculative fiction hats on.

Okay, if you watched the video, you heard the names of all the fabulous talent that will be presenting that day, but I’m too stoked not to mention them again here: musical acts Mutts (“God, Country, Grave“) and Dot Dot Dot (“Smile“); composer Matt Boresi; actor H.B. Ward; juggler Jay Gilligan; dancers and choreographers Cher Schwartz and Megan Licht; members of the Second City improv troupe; and authors Barry Lyga (I HUNT KILLERS), Andy Schmidt (5 DAYS TO DIE), and Catherine Finger (ALABASTER VASES).

Oh, and then there’s me (LOSING TOUCH). Hi.

The event is only for students, but I’ll be doing a very public book signing at the Ernest Hemingway Foundation in Oak Park on Saturday, April 12th from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with an after party at the Oak Park Public Library. (Hey, everybody! Party at the library!)
