2014 Chicago Paranormal Festival Award Winners
The best part of my day at the Chicago Paranormal Film Festival was seeing some of the movies. I saw all of “Stage 3” (Randy Lee Beasley), “Insane” (Adam O’Brien), “The Heebie-Jeebies” (Todd Slawsby), and “A Hot Summer Chill” (Ben Wydeven), and parts of “The Place Where You Live” (Alexis Van Hurkman) and also BACHELOR’S GROVE (Ricardo Islas). My only disappointment was not seeing all of all of them.
Beyond that, I can’t say which ones were my favorites, because I really did very much enjoy all the movies I saw. But there were first-, second-, and third-place awards in the feature and short film categories, which I can report as a matter of record:
Short Films
Feature Films
- BACHELOR’S GROVE (Ricardo Islas)
- THE BRIDGEWATER TRIANGLE (Aaron Cadieux)
- TRUE CRIME PARANORMAL: FREETOWN (Rachel Hoffman)
Not only were a bunch of terrific independent films watched that day, but filmgoers and event attendees helped collect a bunch of new, unwrapped toys and non-perishable food items for the holiday season. And it all went in a coffin!
Breaking Fate Entertainment’s next film festival, the Indie Horror Film Festival, will be held the weekend of March 21st and 22nd at Schurz High School in Chicago.
