Run, don’t walk, to The Dead Walk Fest

Tomorrow and Sunday, the dead walk at Schurz High School in Chicago. I’ll be there signing copies of LOSING TOUCH, the anthology SHRIEKS AND SHIVERS, featuring my zombie short story, “Center Stage Sideshow”, and the Bram Stoker Award®-nominated anthology QUALIA NOUS, featuring my story “Cataldo’s Copy” and “The Jaunt” by Stephen King.

You’ll want to come for the vendor’s room–and stay for the movies, like the zom-com CHIP AND BERNIE’S ZOMANCE, a buddy-comedy featuring Tim Conway (“McHale’s Navy”, “The Carol Burnett Show”, “Dorf”) about a reality tv show set during the zombie apocalypse, screening tomorrow at 4:00:

Or if you like your zombie movies gritty and dark, there’s DEAD WEIGHT, an independent feature film set and shot in Central Wisconsin by Oshkosh natives Adam Bartlett and John Pata, screening tomorrow at 7:00:

Wrapping up the film festival on Sunday is CHRYSALIS, screening at 6:00. In CHRYSALIS, a weaponized virus turns most of humanity into mindless cannibals who destroy civilization and hunt down the survivors:

Tickets are just $15 at the door for two full days of movies, memorabilia, books, and of course, the zombie walk on Sunday, so get your best zombie getup and be part of the fun.

If you need some tips, special-effects master Joe Mistretta will also be holding a separately-ticketed workshop on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. called “How to Spill Blood”. If you love gore, you will not want to miss this session.

I’ll be sharing a table this weekend with Burial Day Books, publishers of GOTHIC BLUE BOOK IV: THE FOLKLORE EDITION, featuring a story by THE WALKING DEAD novelist Jay Bonansinga.

Hope to see you there!

Christian A. Larsen is the author of LOSING TOUCH, featuring a foreword by New York Times bestselling author Piers Anthony, now available in paperback and ebook formats from Post Mortem Press.
