Printer’s Row and LOSING TOUCH touched on during HSF podcast
Jason R. Davis, author of CAUGHT IN THE WEB, has launched a new podcast called HSF Fiction, part of Shriek Speak Radio, and he was nice enough to make me his first guest. Visit this link to Listen to “Episode 1” (100% Jar Jar Binks-free) by clicking the play button under the written introduction.
“HSF” stands for “horror, science-fiction, and fantasy”, and Jason and I talked about all three, especially (but not exclusively) in conjunction with my novel, LOSING TOUCH, which combines those genres. We also discussed the anthologies QUALIA NOUS, a 2014 Bram Stoker Award® finalist, and SHRIEKS AND SHIVERS, available now from Post Mortem Press.
We also more than mentioned Printer’s Row Lit Fest, which happens tomorrow and Sunday at and around West Polk and South Dearborn in Chicago. Jason will be there at the FoF Publishing table, signing copies of HATCHED and CAUGHT IN THE WEB. I’ll be at the Post Mortem Press table, personalizing copies of LOSING TOUCH and the anthology THE GHOST IS THE MACHINE.
While you’re there, enjoy music, food, and fun, including the panel discussion with Cynthia Pelayo (SANTA MUERTE), M.E. May (PURGED) and J. Michael Major (ONE MAN’S CASTLE) called “How to Write Serial Killers” in the Mystery Writers of America tent from 3-4 on Saturday. I am assuming it won’t be about how to correspond with people in prison, but you never know.
You never know what you’re gonna get at Printer’s Row Lit Fest, so in that way, it’s very much like a box of chocolates. Delicious, readable chocolates that you probably shouldn’t eat, unless you find a chocolatier selling little edible books, which would be kind of weird and cool, and I suppose, entirely possible.
So, in summation, listen to the podcast, and then come to Printer’s Row in Chicago this weekend. If you can find the Harold Washington Library, you can find the lit fest. We’ll see you there!
