Plenty of horror at Milwaukee Comic Con

Coming February 16 in paperback and Kindle from Post Mortem Press.

On Sunday, February 21, THE BLACKENING OF FLESH officially drops in the Dairy State at Milwaukee Comic Con. My upcoming novel is more horror than LOSING TOUCH, with about 75% more gangsters and 100% more ghosts, but like William Gaines would tell you, comic conventions aren’t all Spandex and capes.

Late night horror hosts are just as comfortable on the convention circuit as they are on your TV. In the tradition of Vampira, Ghoulardi, Elvira, and Svengoolie, Dr. Destruction has been hosting CRIMSON THEATER since 2001, and Deadgar Winter joined the game in 2009 with DEADGAR’S DARK COFFIN CLASSICS. They’ll both be there–in the flesh.

Horror fans who dress the part will want to visit the Do Bats Eat Cats? table for gothic jewelry and accessories, and over at Gothcraeft’s booth, you’ll find coffin trinket boxes, coasters, hair clips, candles, totes and other custom items. If you’re hunting for the genuine article, the Milwaukee Paranormal Conference will also have a presence.

Traditional comic fans will find plenty to enjoy, too. Pulp Culture Comics and Collectibles offers one of the largest collections of autographed comic books around, and Sutdog Comics specializes $1 Golden, Silver, and Bronze-Age comics. Meanwhile, URBAN LEGENDS creator Jeff Balke will be Sketch Coloring™. Bring him your black and white art, and he’ll custom color it for you while you wait.

Milwaukee Comic Con takes place on Sunday, February 21 from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at American Serb Hall, 5101 W. Oklahoma Avenue in Milwaukee. Tickets are just $5 and kids 12 and under are free. Everyone who attends gets a free comic book at the door and are entered in the Everybody Wins Raffle. Who will win? Everybody.

Christian A. Larsen is the author of the novels LOSING TOUCH and THE BLACKENING OF FLESHnow available to order from Post Mortem Press.
