The past won’t stay buried.
Mighty Con returns to Madison this Sunday, but this time around, it’s at a much bigger venue: Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center. There’s enough room there for all the comic book sellers, toys dealers, artists, and gamers that you’d expect, plus … a little space left over for me to meet some readers and sign copies of my books, including my latest novel, THE BLACKENING OF FLESH.
Of course, there will be lots of comic book dealers on hand, with great deals on silver, bronze, copper, and modern age comic books, limited edition prints, and maybe even that special comic that you’ve been looking for. No shipping, and you don’t have to hop from shop to shop since they’ll all be under one roof—but you’ll find more than comics at Mighty Con in Madison.
There’s also LEGOs, Star Wars memorabilia, posters, buttons, stickers, custom jewelry, and … Circuits & Sewing Needles is hosting a cash prize cosplay contest with both adults and kids categories. Gamers will have plenty to do, too. Play the all-day open Warhammer 40K tables with special terrain courtesy of HiveFX, and don’t forget the Heroclix tutorials and tournaments provided by TNT Comics.
While you’re there, pick up your copy of my novels THE BLACKENING OF FLESH, about a high school graduate who finds out his home is haunted by five gangsters, or LOSING TOUCH, about an out-of-work suburbanite who finds out he can walk through walls. I’ll also have copies of the horror anthology SHRIEKS AND SHIVERS, the steampunk-inspired anthology THE GHOST IS THE MACHINE, and the sci-fi anthology QUALIA NOUS, featuring “The Jaunt” by Stephen King.
Mighty Con is coming to Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center in Madison. Admission to Mighty Con is just $5, and kids 12 and under are free. Who knows what you might find just by showing up? There’s rumor of a free comic book for everyone who walks in the door and giveaways throughout the day while supplies last. So get there early, and get ready to have some fun at Mighty Con in Madison!
