Book review: 44 Lies by 22 Liars – Flash fiction from Post Mortem Press

Your mileage will definitely vary with this collection of flash fiction from Post Mortem Press. I almost gave up on this book. I was deep into two novels at the time and decided to read the odd flash piece as a break. It didn’t really work for me so I left it alone until I’d finished the other books. I am sure glad that I did. I went through the book initially reading the pieces by writers who I enjoy reading and some of these stories were great then read the rest of the collection and found myself enjoying it quite a bit.
One of the real standouts is Jessica McHugh’s ‘The D-Word’. It’s a short piece about a service robot and was one of the most original in the collection, gave me a little bit of the feels too and Robert Essig also impressed with ‘Names on the Sidewalk’…
