Blackening of Flesh, The
Jared Dix just graduated from high school and meets Monica, a slightly older college girl who is fascinated with his house because of its dark history.
The Dix house was site of a grisly massacre; a crime unknown to history until Monica puts the pieces together for a college paper. She never saw the inside of the house, though, until she met Jared.
But then Jared’s family starts acting strangely, and bizarre bruises emerge on their skin that don’t look like bruises at all. Jared then finds that a bloody chapter of history is creeping into the present, and its up to him to make sure it doesn’t go any further.

“If you love Stephen King, haunted houses, gangsters, and/or awkward unrequited romances, THE BLACKENING OF FLESH should be in your hands right now. You should be sucking its glory in through your eyeholes as we speak, and then hiring a cleaning service for your designated reading area.”
– Joseph Williams, author of TIMBERS OF FENNARIO: STORIES INSPIRED BY THE MUSIC OF GRATEFUL DEAD
